Stack Exchange, Inc. is a company based out of New York that develops and hosts Q&A sites. It was originally a part of Fog Creek Software, Inc., but it later split into its own company, Stack Overflow (later renamed to Stack Exchange).

They stage and create a variety of communities ranging from programming to cooking to bikes. The community is moderated by the community with a privilege system based on reputation. Since the content comes from the users, they are involved involved in as much of the development process as possible. For example, a user can go to the meta site to suggest and vote on feature requests or report bugs.

The largest site is Stack Overflow.
